Season outlook
D.C. United is one of the most historic clubs in Major League Soccer. Although founded in 1994, it began competing in 1996 as one of the league's original 10 teams and has won four MLS Cups, three U.S. Open Cups, and four Supporters' Shields.
However, in recent years, D.C. United has had an inconsistent performance. In the 2023 season, the team finished in 12th place in the Eastern Conference. Several factors contributed to D.C. United's poor performance in the 2023 season. Firstly, the team suffered a series of significant injuries that affected its squad depth. Secondly, D.C. United had trouble scoring goals, with only 45 goals in 38 matches. For the 2024 season, D.C. United has made several changes to its squad with the aim of improving its performance. With these changes, D.C. United has the potential to once again be a contender in the MLS.
It is still too early to say whether the team will achieve this.
