RC Strasbourg

RC Strasbourg is a French professional football club based in Strasbourg, Alsace. Founded in 1906, the club has been professional since 1933 and currently competes in Ligue 1, having won the Ligue 2 championship in the 2016-17 season.

Racing Strasbourg has won the three most important trophies in French football: the Championship in 1979, the French Cup in 1951, 1966, and 2001, and the League Cup in 1997, 2005, and 2019. The club has played over 2,000 matches in the top division and 52 European competitions since 1961. Despite these achievements, the club has been relegated at least once per decade since the 1950s, which has hindered its consolidation as one of France's top teams.
